Howdy!
Welcome to the 8pm SoccerFours session.
Although we take drop-ins, registering here for the session is highly recommended as drop-ins are only taken after all the signed up people are accounted for (and after people on the "Waiting List" which are those who have signed up online after we've already reached capacity). We cap sessions at 40 people (1 sub per team) and when the weather's dry, we come close to filling this 8pm session. For those of you who like what you see, consider buying a 15-Session Pass.
Some house rules for sessions:
- If you're over 10 minutes late (and you've signed up here online), your spot will be opened up for drop-ins. If you paid ahead of time, your fee will be forfeited (if a drop-in fills in your spot). If you show up late, but we still have space then no worries -- hop right in!
- No shooting from your own half. Though we don't keep score, the point of SoccerFours is to work on fitness, teamwork, and skills. Shooting at a small goal could be considered some skill building, but it's a big damper on the game for the other 7 people, so let's make sure we're in the attacking half before we let fly.
- No slide tackling. It's one thing to mess up on a step-over move and fall down, but it's another to either slide tackle someone who doesn't know how to get out of the way/ride the tackle or work on trying to improve one's slide tackling (e.g. timing is slightly off and an injury results to either you or the opponent).
- If you accidentally kick a ball over the fence, please go get it IMMEDIATELY. We don't want to lose that ball, and if it goes over on the Safeway side of the street, it may be lost forever if we don't go right away (and even then sometimes it's been too late!). Thanks!
- If you find yourself playing against a team that's either not very good or just doesn't play well together, resulting in your team banging goals in, try to work on something else besides scoring goals for the rest of that game. Maybe a 2-touch passing game, stringing 5 passes together before attacking their goal, and/or making sure every player gets a touch before shooting. This is more of a suggestion than a rule, but fun can quickly evaporate from a game in such a situation, so let's do what we can to keep things fun.
- Have fun! :)
That's about it. Looking forward to seeing you all out there! |
